Financial Professional

Terry Cochran entered the insurance business in 1988.  She has distinguished herself as an Agent and in her management career.  She has been the recipient of her company’s highest award, The Gold Award, for the years.  Terry has been a leading General Agent for American National since 1996 and has served as an Associate Regional Director over the six states in the Pacific/West with 300 + agents.  She has been the recipient of the National Management Award since 2000 and was one of the first women to be awarded the First in Class in 2002.  She has been a recipient of GAMA International’s Master Multiline Award Top 250. In 2021Terry was inducted into the American National Hall of Fame, she is the first female in the Multiline division to receive that honor. 

In 1992 Terry joined Securities Management and Research as a Financial Professional  She distinguished her career by earning the Bull and Bear Award.   To increase her knowledge and what she could provide for her clients to meet their goals she added Financial professionals to her responsibilities.

She has been an instructor for Essentials in Management Development and a speaker at GAMA’s Best Practices, LIMRA, NAIFA, the main platform and a breakout instructor at LAMP, and an instructor for Horizons and FSS/LUTCF at The American College. Terry is a member of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors and the Society of Financial Service Professionals. Terry has received the designations of CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), CLF (Chartered Leadership Fellow), and Financial Services Specialist (FSS) from The American College. 

Terry is a Black Belt in karate and has been married to her high school sweetheart for 42 years.  She enjoys golf, traveling, fishing, and spending time at any warm beach.  She has two children of which her daughter is working with her in the insurance industry today.  Her greatest joy today is her granddaughters.
